Scenery, Landscape and Activities
The Llyn Peninsula is one of the most scenic parts of Wales
and arguably the prettiest too. Designated as an “area
of outstanding natural beauty” and Heritage coast it is
an ideal area for many outdoor activities with an array of cliff
top pathways for walking along the rugged coastline. For surfing
enthusiasts venture down to Porth Neigwl (Hell’s Mouth
Bay) or Porth Oer (Whistling Sands) with boating and water sports
in abundance to suit all tastes with the Yachting Marina at
Pwllheli and the South Caernarfonshire Yacht Club on the headland
at Abersoch. Sea Fishing is available from many of the beaches
and coves with daily trips in season from Pwllheli marina and
Abersoch out to the deep waters of Cardigan Bay. There are three
challenging 18 hole golf courses Abersoch, Nefyn and Pwllheli
- all set in idyllic surroundings or go further afield to Criccieth,
Porthmadog and Harlech (St David’s)
